About the Role
This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in responsibility, sound judgement, and operational excellence. As a Security Control Room Operator, you will be entrusted with critical decision-making that directly impacts safety, service delivery, and incident outcomes. We have positions across Sydney CBD, North Sydney, and Homebush.
You will develop a deep understanding of security operations, emergency response coordination, and stakeholder communication, positioning you as a trusted operational hub during high-profile events. High-performing Control Room Operators are often identified as key talent for progression into senior operational roles, including Control Room Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or broader leadership positions within the organisation.
This is a pathway role for those who demonstrate strong situational awareness and decision-making capability, professional communication and escalation judgement, accountability, reliability, and attention to detail, and the ability to lead through calm, clear coordination during incidents.

Key Responsibilities
Control Room Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor live operations using CCTV and integrated security systems during events, ensuring compliance with SOPs
- Operate and utilise ACESGroup’s technology platforms to support site safety and reporting
- Maintain operational readiness by checking and managing essential equipment and systems
- Provide high-quality security services in accordance with client requirements and internal standards
Incident Response & Emergency Coordination
- Respond to alarms and incidents swiftly and professionally, escalating where appropriate
- Support emergency response coordination, relaying accurate information to ground teams and stakeholders
- Control access to restricted zones, ensuring only authorised personnel are granted entry
- Work confidently within established procedures during high-pressure or time-sensitive situations
Reporting & Administration
- Log incidents and reports with precision, capturing essential details and ensuring accountability
- Maintain accurate records and complete reports through digital systems
- Ensure timely and professional escalation of operational issues and incidents
Teamwork & Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with team members and management to enhance operational efficiency
- Contribute to the safety and smooth running of public-facing events
- Maintain a calm, professional, and solutions-focused approach at all times
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a current NSW 1A Security Licence with a minimum of 12 months’ experience
- Have Control Room Operator experience, which is essential
- Be confident operating in a fast-paced, live-event environment, guided by SOPs and real-time updates
- Communicate clearly, stay composed under pressure, and work effectively in a team
- Be flexible and committed to working a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public events
Applicants must also hold:
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Competency Card
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Customer service experience
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional personal presentation
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to pass an LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital) test
- Full NSW Driver Licence
- Traffic Control and Implement Traffic Management Plan certificates/cards, or willingness to obtain
- White Card, or willingness to obtain
- Fire Warden, Chief Warden, and Confine Small Emergencies certifications, or willingness to obtain
