International Security Officers' Day 2026

International Security Officers Day 2026: Celebrating the People Who Keep Our Communities Safe

24 July marks International Security Officers Day (ISOD), a day dedicated to recognising the professionalism, commitment and invaluable contribution of Security Officers around the world.

While much of their work takes place behind the scenes, Security Officers play a vital role in protecting people, property and critical infrastructure, helping communities operate safely and confidently every day.

At ACESGroup, we are proud to join the industry in celebrating the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to keep people and places safe.

More Than a Uniform

The role of a Security Officer is often misunderstood. While many people associate security with standing at an entrance or monitoring access, today's Security Officers perform a diverse range of responsibilities that require professionalism, sound judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Across Australia, Security Officers are often among the first to respond when incidents occur. They assist during emergencies, support members of the public, protect property, manage access to secure environments, monitor surveillance systems, de-escalate conflict, and work closely with emergency services and clients to maintain safe and secure environments.

Their presence provides reassurance to the communities they serve and helps prevent incidents before they occur.

Keeping People and Places Safe

At ACESGroup, our Security Officers work across a diverse range of environments, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact.

Our teams support clients across:

  • Aviation and airport operations
  • Public spaces and precincts
  • Major sporting and entertainment venues
  • Universities and educational institutions
  • Control Room operations
  • Ranger services
  • Concierge and corporate security
  • Mobile patrols
  • Events and crowd management
  • Critical infrastructure and commercial environments

Whether assisting travellers through an airport, supporting the safe delivery of a major event, monitoring CCTV in a Control Room, patrolling public spaces or providing frontline customer service, our people represent ACESGroup with professionalism, integrity and pride.

No two days are ever the same, but every shift contributes to a safer community.

The People Behind the Role

Behind every uniform is someone committed to helping others.

Our Security Officers work around the clock, including nights, weekends and public holidays, often in challenging and dynamic environments. They are problem-solvers, communicators, leaders and trusted professionals who make countless decisions every day to protect people and property.

The work can be demanding, but it is also incredibly rewarding. It requires resilience, adaptability and a genuine commitment to serving the community.

At ACESGroup, we recognise that our people are our greatest strength. Their professionalism, dedication and willingness to go above and beyond are the foundation of the trusted relationships we have built with our clients across Australia.
